If I don't have a computer can I still enroll in ECS?

Yes! In fact, when you enroll in ECS we will lease you a desktop computer to use in your home for a minimal fee of $20. (Returning students pay only $5.)  You will use the computer to access your courses, retrieve valuable resources on the Internet, and communicate with classmates and your instructors.*


Does it matter where I live?

No! ECS instruction can be delivered anywhere the Internet goes! You do not need to live in the same town or even the same state as your classmates and instructors! We will even loan you a computer to use in your home!*


How much does it cost to enroll in ECS?
Enrollment in ECS is free. There are no tuition charges.* In fact, when you enroll as a full-time student in ECS, you will receive a computer on lease for only $20.  (Returning students pay only $5.)* Also, you will receive toll-free access to technical support. Combine these benefits with the quality instructors, solid curriculum, and the opportunity for parents to play an active role, and you have a winning combination.

 


How much time each day does this require?
One of the benefits of online learning with ECS is the flexibility to structure your study schedule around other commitments you may have. While you may choose to study in the evening instead of the morning, you will still be expected to complete your work in a timely and consistent manner. For a typical ECS class you can expect to spend at least 60 minutes per day working on assignments.

How can I know that the education I receive from ECS will be of the highest quality?
Courses offered through ECS will be of only the highest quality. Highly qualified, Kansas certified instructors will lead each course which is designed to meet the State Standards of Kansas.

If I graduate from the program, will I receive a diploma or GED?
Since ECS is an accredited school, students who graduate from the program earn a Kansas diploma.

Won't I feel lonely and isolated from my classmates and instructor?
As in any distance education course, feelings of isolation can be a problem. However, the courses offered through ECS will require a great deal of interaction among students and between the student and the instructor, helping to lessen these feelings. As you become actively involved with your classmates, feelings of community and support will quickly replace those of loneliness. Parents are also encouraged to become actively involved in the education of their student by communicating often with the instructors by email or phone, and by monitoring their child's online gradebook for progress.
