Keyboarding

This course will cover correct methods for typing letters, reports, memos, envelopes, and various other business related documents.   Microsoft Word will be used as a desktop publishing program and a web page design tool.   Various other rules that apply to correct keyboarding will also be covered.

 

BusinessComputer Applications

This course is designed to allow students to gain knowledge in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.  Students will develop a clear understanding of each of the programs and how to integrate them to achieve the full benefits of the Microsoft Office package. 

 

Prerequisite: Keyboarding

 

Web Design

This Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 course introduces students to the Internet; a worldwide collection of computer networks, cooperating with each other to exchange data using a common software standard. Students learn about the history of the Internet, how it began, and the most popular part of the Internet, the World Wide Web: its structure, organization, and the tools used to explore it.

 

Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 teaches the fundamentals of FrontPage 2003 and acquaints students with the proper procedures to design and create Web pages suitable for course work, professional purposes, and personal use. The course provides an introduction to managing collections of related Web pages and exposes students to practical examples of the computer as a useful tool. Students will develop an exercise-oriented approach that allows learning by doing. The course introduces students to new input technologies, encourages independent study, and provides help to those who are working alone.
