Second grade Terrarium Science Project

We are Learning and Having Fun!

by Janelle Maltbie

November 03, 2007

The Kindergarten through Third graders have had several fun projects so far this year!

The Kindergarten class has had fun learning their alphabet and had a few extra fun activities to go along with the letters K and J!  When learning the letter K, we read the story of the 3 little kittens and then had fun pretending to be cat by lapping milk out of a bowl!

When learning the letter J, the students made J-cookies...YUM!

The first graders have had fun learning about and interviewing community helpers in their communities.  This first grader learned about being a cop! He says that the cop likes to drive fast, help people, and has been scared before.  She has a gun and handcuffs.  He might want to be a cop too, someday!

First graders had fun learning about community helpers!

Second graders have been learning about plant life in science class!  They all had fun making and taking care of these Awesome Terrariums!

Third graders have been busy helping their communities by participating in a Community Service assignment.  Each student picked up trash in their community to help make it a better, cleaner place to live!  What a great way to get involved and help!!!
